So I have ddr4 2666 ram, running at 1333, got a gigabyte b450 ds3h. How do I enable xmp on that board

short answer, dont use XMP. Boot your pc and spam the delete key or f2, depending on the board to get into the bios. THen go to advanced, then frequency settings and the memory should be there, set it to 2666 then go to exit then exit and save.

There more to it than just that. Might need to adjust voltage and timing to match the specs.

Enabling XMP poses no issues in most cases, even more so when the memory is within specs of the memory controller.

If I'm following your manually correctly,

In the BIOS > M.I.T. > Advanced Frequency Settings > Advanced CPU Core Settings > Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) > Profile1

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite

Hold on.  How are you monitoring the speed of your RAM?

Because of a weird marketing ploy a few years back, 1333 = 2666 depending on certain scenarios.  If you have a dual channel motherboard, and you do, then 1333 could mean that your RAM is running at 2666.

I am so confused because I looked at that online manual I have none of those options. But my bios is still revision 1.

Well what does your BIOS looks like? Can you take a picture with a phone or something? Because if it doesn't look like what's seen in your motherboard's manual, there's a problem.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Bazzite

Alright so... enter that right there, Advanced Frequency Settings... You're literally on it.

Then you should see "Advanced CPU Core Settings" as one of the options that will show up.

And in that, you should see Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) and select Profile1

Alright, so Gigabyte manuals are complete trash. We now know that.

Return to the initial M.I.T. menu and go in Advanced Memory Settings. Surely, it should be in there.

Memory Timing Mode : What can you change this setting to?

That said, your RAM currently is already operating at 2666, Not sure if the timing is correct since I do not know of your specific RAM, though.

DDR literally means "Double Data Rate".

2666 is "double" 1333. Hence why softwares like CPUz and the likes will show 1333 instead of 2666. That's normal. My RAM also shows as 1599 when using a software but it's 3200 in BIOS.

Notice how it accurately identify your RAM type as 2666 in HWinfo?

Looking up your RAM model with what I'm seeing in that picture, it seems like you have the right CAS_Latency and voltage by default. So really, leave it all to auto and thus, no need for XMP.
