Hey guys,

Just upgraded to GTX 1660 Super and 16GB of 3000Mhz RAM, still have my Ryzen 1500x, and was wondering what would the bottleneck on the GPU be like here? Im playing Battlefield V on ultra setting and hitting around 60-90 frames, but average around 78. Was wondering if I am being held back by the CPU at all and if its worth getting a Ryzen 3rd gen now or waiting for Ryzen 4. What do you think?

It is and isn't at the same time.

Both are entry level parts. They match up well, so not really a bottle neck between them directly.

You're being help back by both Cpu and Gpu at the same time, being entry level gaming parts.

That is all.

Was looking at reviews and people saying they are hitting an average of 90 but my average is more around 70, just odd.

Being held back? A bit. Battlefield is known to leverage many cores and benefits from 6 core CPUs. Worth it to wait? Depends. If your average framerate and frame times are pleasing you now, there's no reason to upgrade yet.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How much increase realistically in terms of FPS will a 6 core Ryzen give me over my current CPU?

Hard to give exact numbers. You could check out benchmarks by popular YouTubers on battlefield V performance, that was a big deal when it came out.

Pretty heavy game for a 1500X I think. 3600X, faster frequency, much better IPC and memory frequency. Probably boost that average right up I recon.
