So I have an asus tuf laptop and recently while I have put it to sleep by closing the lid it goes to sleep stops the screen(no image when I lift up the lid back on) and the fans stop. Although recently after some time in sleep the laptop's fans turn on and it gets a bit hot also the screen when I open the lid is automatically on and on the lock screen. Prior to that no apps were open on the laptop and it wasn't heated up when put to sleep. What could be causing this? A virus?

Possible.

A quick check is to download antimalware software, like MalwareBytes.

Another idea is that if you're leaving it plugged in, then the battery might get hot.

Windows Update may have changed what your computer does when you close the lid

I did a scan with malwarebytes and nothing. Other than that I do leave it plugged in I might try unplugging the battery but I don't see why the screen would turn on. In the power plan settings the lid option is still when closing for the laptop to go to sleep both plugged in or battery.
