minecraft server ram issue (solved)

im trying to allocate more ram to my Minecraft server, but it wont allow me to go over 1gb or ram. if I do it will not run at all. I tried uninstalling and re-installing java but no luck.

any ideas?

Download 64 bit Java.

I already did, or at least the Java website says it’s 64bit

Enable it in the dropdown menu and it will allow you to select more then the 1 GB of Ram, there should be an option to run it via Java 32 bit or 64 bit.

I didn’t think the server had a drop down menu, I had to write code to get more that 256mb of ram and I can only get 1024mb max but I’ll try to look for a drop down menu

this is what I have for the ram, if I go any higher it will not run and says too much

I ended up figuring it out my self, i had java runtime installed, which was not allowing it to go over 1gb or ram. I uninstalled java and then downloaded java development kit. and now is working like it should
