I would advise sticking to sata based SSDs because PCIE SSDs are much faster but as said above, are also much more expensive and you going to be looking a $100-$200 more for a 250GB PCIE SSD compared to a standard Sata one.

I've heard that the ASUS rog raidr is not as fast as a SSD but when I read it. It was posted last year.

USD

Unless you can find a good deal on a used or open box ssd, I don't think that's happening for $200.

As far as I've read from...well everyone. I don't think youll be finding anything significantly faster then an 840 pro. Theres always the ASUS Raidr express SSD. But it has a $330 price tag and I've heard a lot of issues with it working with any newer BIOS versions.

Edit: Keep in mind I do not own an 840 pro but EVERYONE on this forum seems to think it's da bomb so it has to be partially true

When enough people swear by it, you don't need to own it to recommend it! And if it's anything like my 830 Series 256gb, it is amazing!
