Help with multiple monitors

Hello guys!

I am on my way to build a custom day-trading PC for one of my good friend, but I have some questions for you.

First, being a gamer, I only built 5 PCs in my life. However, they were all gaming PCs, so building a trading PC is a new thing for me.

 

My first question is : Can I have a three-monitors setup with screens of different resolutions? For example, My friend would like to have a 4k monitor as the primary monitor, combined with two 1080p conventional monitors. Is this possible with a card like the GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB GDDR6 192-bit ?

Are there any better options for this build?

I want to build him the best PC possible for his buck so I need your precious experience.

 

Here are the principal parts of the build :

 

GPU : GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER 6GB GDDR6 192-bit

Memory : 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000

Motherboard : ASUS PRIME Z370-P II LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z370 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX

CPU : Intel Core i5-9400F Coffee Lake 6-Core 2.9 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo)

Displays : One 4K monitor with two 1080P monitors. (so a total of 3 monitors)

I'm not exactly sure what a "day-trading" pc is.

 

Not sure how setting up the resolutions through windows would fair, but you can set up different resolutions in the Nvidia control panel. As far as whether or not a 1660 super will be enough, I don't think so.

 

I used a gtx 1070 in this comparison here cause it's a card I've used for years so I know what it's capable of, the 1660 Super performing below that

My 1070 was able to do 1440p at well above 60 depending on the game, but I tried going 4k with it at one point, which is possible, but even if the pc isn't gonna be used for gaming I don't know how well 4k plus two 1080p's will handle. I guess assuming you're not gaming using them you'll be fine, or if nothing else only having one active whenever any gaming is done you might be fine. I think it'd be better to try swinging for a 2060, even just a normal one and not the Super should be a safe bet.

Looking into what a day-trading pc is, I retract what I said, a 1660 should work

It won't be used for gaming. He will use it to view multiple trading web-apps at the same time. You guys think a 1660-Super should work for that kind of usage? (1x 4K + 2x 1080P)

yeah I do think a super would be more certain to work just because of all the pixels of 4k plus two 1080's, it's better to play it a little safe than to buy card just for it to not be enough then be stuck with said card. Would be helpful to get some other peoples opinion on that as well
