High refresh rate monitor for GX502GW

Hi guys! I bought an Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX502GW a while ago and now I want to buy a high refresh rate monitor (144Hz) but I don't know if it will work over HDMI. I did a test with an Acer Predator XB241H and it was locked at 60Hz, but this could also be a limitation of the monitor based on what I have read.

Could you suggest a good monitor (on a budget) that will do 144Hhz over HDMI (if possible)?

 

Another alternative would be to buy a USB-C to DP adapter and use the USB-C on the laptop, but I don't know if that would work either.

Also, is G-sync going to work on both HDMI and DP (USB-C)?
