By going amd instead of intel for the cpu, getting an air cooler instead of a 120mm aio and a better quality psu.

I cant afford to do that because it means a new motherboard, new CPU and new cooler. And the always present issue of switching an os system from intel to Amd. But that might be a long term goal

AMD is better value and with the money you save, you can put towards a better GPU.

Never been a fan of AMD. I know it doesnt make much difference other than proce hut it seems like too much hassle to change now. But if anyone can find a way that wont bottle neck me rn I have £300 to upgrade this

oh I didn't realize this is an existing build, I thought it's a proposed build. In that case, given that it looks like a pretty new system, you can't improve it much.

are there particular tasks it can't cope with? do you need more fps or what's the reason for wanting to upgrade?

Well Im a Video game design student and I should of specified in the post sorry that I was wondering how I could upgrade the PC to preform a bit better with 3d modelling and rendering at 1080-1440p. While I havent tried it yet now looking at videos and other sources Im worried my I5 may be a bottle neck for this

yes, i guess you should have built a ryzen pc then. not much else from intel under 300 euros will give you better performance
