Just looking for a starting point here. Anyone that might now anything about modding an os. I would like to take a win 7x86 iso and mod it using files from a win 10x86 iso. Idea would be to have a 32 bit windows 7 install on a gpt disk using uefi. Now I'm not clueless here but I'm going to spend my free time in this next week playing with this. Anyone's input will certainly speed things up. Also this is now just a learning experience vs I need this to work. It'd be real nice if I can do it but if not that's ok.

There is, and I cannot find it right now, an official MS tool that allows you to customize every little detail to install, right down to the choice of GUI, or no GUI.

Start here, see what you can find

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

That's some good info. Wouldn't mind making my own custom iso to have an os setup the way I want it but it's not about modifying the things I need. I'm basically thinking of copying some of the system32 files from win 10x86 over to my win 7x86 as 10 supports efi booting. I can only guess it will not be that simple lol. I've moved over to using hyper v for the time being because it's so much easier to see the result before I go into trying to figure out the correct bcdboot commands.
