Will this controller work with this hard drive. Also do I need a special SAS cable

Why do you want to use sas drives? There's normal sata drives getting recommended for the same price there.

Will it work? Yes if you get the correct cables. You'll need a 1x SAS to 4x cable and then plug a sata power cable + the end of the sas splitter into a adapter that adapts these cables to fit the drive unless you already have a correctly fitted cable.

Yeah but you are getting a 17 pound drive + 25 + 4,18. Also it's a used server hdd those usually have a lot of operating hours on it and not much life left. Buying used hdds in general is not a good idea.

You'll need one for every drive you try to connect.

Most definitely not. Sata and sas connectors are different and have plastic in the way that prevents you from connecting a sata and sata power connector directly. Yes drives with a lot of hours may keep working it's more about how much it has been written on.
