Compatible RAM for Ryzen 5 1st gen

Is RAM still an issue in Ryzen 1st gen? I currently have a Ryzen 5 1400 and was choosing between an MSI B450 PRO-M2 MAX and an MSI B350 Tomahawk and was not sure what ram to pair it with. I do have a single 4gb stick of Kingston HyperX (HX426C15FB/4) CL15  2666 MHz which both motherboards support as stated in MSI's RAM Support List for 1st gen. With an additional budget I was able to raise my budget to around $200 which I guess opens an opportunity to buy a 16GB or 8GB RAM kit. i am not so sure what to buy though. I was basing the compatibility of the RAM i can find on the list provided by MSI on their website and most of em are not I guess "not compatible" since it was not in their list.

Soooo I can still use a kit that is not listed there but there its not a guarantee? Now I am kinda scared and regretting that I bought a R5 1st gen
