Alright so just replaced my screen on my alienware laptop. It had a killer wireless 1435 card it in, my luck being that something happened with the antenna and I could get the main antenna connection back on, broke the connector off the card itself off into the wire in the computer. Is there anything I can do to fix my situation! Do I need both wires on it or is the “aux” an auxiliary antenna and will work with just one?

The card will likely function fine with just one antenna. You might not get the same coverage/connection as before but you are down an antenna so what can you do :/

Daily Driver: Redmi Book Pro 14 - Core Ultra 7 155H | 32GB/1TB

Primary Desktop: NCase M1 - Ryzen 7 7800X3D/RX 6950XT | 32GB/2TB

Travel PC: Fractal Terra - Ryzen 7 5800X/RTX 3060 Ti | 16GB/1TB

I have too many computers. List here.

I broke mine well my wife - because she pour a glass of water on Yoga 920... even without wire it should work (with very poor signal reception of course).. Just buy a new card... or just use a usb stick wifi as a emergency solution 😀

You can use one but reduced speed since you'll basically be 1x1.

Might be an easy replace to a 1650x Killer or similar if you want a fix plus upgrade concurrently.  You should be able to pull out the connector piece in the antenna with pliers

Agree with replacing the card if you want to have stable wireless reception. You could always try with just one of the antennae connected to see how it performs.

Should you decide to replace the adapter, you can try to get an exact replacement, but since newer-generation cards are so inexpensive, it might be good to upgrade. Just make sure the new card is in the M.2 2230 form factor (A/E key).

I currently am running the “main” antenna on the aux port, have seen a difference in connectivity, so I think as long as I don’t try to use multiple wireless things I’ll be good, my keyboard and mouse are both wires so I only need the antenna for WiFi and it BT as well
