So I am using ethernet directly plugged into my box except my box isn't the one that the satillite comes into it comes in a different house and goes to mine. I don't know if their is anything I can change in my computer settings or the settings of mine or the other ethernet to speed it up

So you are saying you have internet via satellite and you are connected via ethernet to the receiver? How long is that cable and what standard (like CAT5,CAT5e, CAT6 etc.) does it use? What speed are you getting and what is advertised. Also who else is using that connection at the same time?

And it seems they are sharing that connection with someone else in another house, so even worse than direct. Nothing you can do though but geting some better connection yourself.
