Why does Minecraft hate my pc?

Something seems to be horribly wrong with my minecraft. My build (FX-8320, 8gig 1600mhz, R9 270x) seems to average at about 40-50 fps. I've run the game before with well above 100fps. It started after I installed the Beta 14.1 drivers for my 270x. I removed the driver using driver sweeper and the FPS returned to its former glory.  Later I reinstalled the beta drivers (stupid I know) and then reverted back to the old 13.12 drivers once again, but this time the FPS didn't change. As far as I know, I have completely wiped the drivers using driver sweeper and installed the 13.12 drivers again. Has anyone had this before or does anyone know how to fix this?

Other things I've tried:

Updating/reinstalling Java

Allocating more RAM to minecraft

Monitoring GPU/RAM/CPU usage (they're all quite low)

Using other minecraft versions

Reinstalling minecraft

Is there perhaps a different way that I should have wiped the drivers?

I believe Mineraft is very CPU dependent and runs on a single CPU core. Since Intel has better Single core performance, it would work a lot better than your 8350.

Its cpu dependent yes. But it runs on multiple cores. I have a 6300 amd processor and I max out my monitor in terms of fps in minecraft.

My monitor is 60hz. Which means it can play games at 60fps max. So when I play minecraft I hit the maximum support fps of my monitor which is 60fps

You can play games at more than 60 fps... Just because the refresh rate is 60hz doesn't mean that is your limit. Unless you have vsync on then it is.

he's propably talking about the refresh rate of his monitor.

Try installing optifine to minecraft, you'll get better frame rate, it fixes bugs. Uninstall all but the newest java update. Open task manager and set the minecraft prioty to high (right click the minecraft process) turn vsync off. Try running this before minecraft.

Clear you temp data. This will clear all the background files that are stored by other programs, very similar to Internet Cache, basically the files your ram is storing. To clear this, go to Start -> Run -> Type "%temp%" -> Will open a folder -> delete all files in the folder, leave the ones that aren't possible to delete.

See if any of that helps.

Yes that is correct, and I indeed do have v sync on

I only use vsync if I have tearing on games. Having a higher framerate means if it dips it isn't noticable. :)

I  already have Optifine installed and I have also deleted  the temp files, didn't do anything as far as I can tell.

Have to tried turning it off and on again? Just kidding.

You should check you GPU drivers, maybe they are not up to date and that is the reason your FPS are so low.
