Hello there.

I have 4gb ddr3 ram at 800 mhz rn and I want to upgrade with 8gb ddr3 at 1600 mhz that I found for cheap. My question is will the faster ram work with my current or should I just take it out ? Tnx :)

What are your system spec's?

We cannot answer that question without knowing this.

Your new RAM will be running at the speed of your old kit if you combine the two.

Should I leave the old ram and have more ram but it will be slower or take out old ram and have it run faster ?

You can leave the old ram if you want but the sytem will only use the same from each stick, basically since you have 4gb in two the system already has the system will read 4 sticks of 4gb at the slower speed. Just as @aimi mentioned about speed.

Doesnt make sense but the system has to have matching memory to function correctly, so it makes all the memory the same. Understand?
