Hey all.

I'm building my friend a budget computer for CSGO only. They literally only play CSGO. They have peripherals already, so tell me what you think:

I know I'll need a CPU to give the motherboard a bios update!

Irish in Vancouver, what's new?

Can get a way cheaper case, the motherboard and power supply aren't worth the money.

The motherboard is fine...

A320 is a crap chipset, there's decent B450 boards at the same price-point

I think it's great, except I would FOR SURE get the Ryzen 5 3400G instead of the Ryzen 3 3200G. If he's planning on rolling integrated graphics, at least get the good integrated graphics.

If his jam is CS:GO, a high refresh rate monitor will be in his future. the R53400G will at least let him see over 100FPS fairly consistently, reducing the competitive disadvantage.

Work Rigs - 2015 15" MBP | 2019 15" MBP | 2021 16" M1 Max MBP | Lenovo ThinkPad T490 |

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X  |  MSI B550 Gaming Plus  |  64GB G.SKILL 3200 CL16 4x8GB |  AMD Reference RX 6800  |  WD Black SN750 1TB NVMe  |  Corsair RM750  |  Corsair H115i RGB Pro XT  |  Corsair 4000D  |  Dell S2721DGF  |

Fun Rig - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X  |  MSI B550 Tomahawk  |  32GB G.SKILL 3600 CL16 4x8GB |  AMD Reference 6800XT  | Creative Sound Blaster Z  |  WD Black SN850 500GB NVMe  |  WD Black SN750 2TB NVMe  |  WD Blue 1TB SATA SSD  |  Corsair RM850x  |  Corsair H100i RGB Pro XT  |  Corsair 4000D  |  LG 27GP850  |

I looked it up, the FPS is negligible no?

For CS:GO only, a 9th gen Intel CPU will do better than second gen Ryzen. You can also cut the SSD down.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Well, it's for Zen+ instead of Zen2 cores, so second gen architecture (all G processors use last gen cores). Would be slow for high fps gaming, so if that's a priority, consider the i5.
