Does pi hole require a internet connection?

Go to solution Solved by beersykins,

You could theoretically add your own resolving hosts to that if you wanted for local LAN resolution only.

But yes to query external domains it needs an Internet connection.

I have a raspberry pi zero (non WiFi) in a draw I wondered if I could use it for Pi hole or does it require a active internet connection?

Well yes, how else would it function as a DNS server?

You can get a microUSB OTG adapter and a USB ethernet adapter or USB WiFi adapter and use it that way. Getting either of those during this time might be a little challenging, but Amazon seems to still be delivering non-essential stuff within reasonable timeframes despite their current messaging.
