Is Galaxy buds audio quality on non-Samsung phones worse?

Hey

 

I recently bought the galaxy buds and paired with my Galaxy A40 I love the audio quality of these earbuds. But recently I have been having problems with the battery on my phone and I want to buy a new one. But if I would buy a non-Samsung phone I would not have the dedicated software for the galaxy buds, so is the audio quality going to be the same or worse than on a Samsung phone?

I don't think it should be, as long as the other phone is running the same Bluetooth version. Might want to steer clear from any huawei/honor phones; I've had some issues with Bluetooth connectivity on those.
