Hello, I'm totally new here so sorry if I did anything wrong lol, but I'm needing some help as I'm setting up my first pc right now and figured this would be the best place to go! Now I'm not really wanting to build a pc right now, I'm just wanting to buy a prebuilt one, and don't like the super "out there" look that most gaming pc's have, and I've narrowed it down to 2 that I like, and wanted suggestions as to which would be better. I'll like them here:

https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/desktop-computers/xps-desktop-special-edition/spd/xps-8930-se-desktop

Is one particularly better or would it not make a difference either way? I'm not too concerned with price, and it would cost roughly the same for the same configuration, so that's not a concern. I'm just curious if either if better in any way. I'll be using it to play a decent amount of gaming, nothing competitive or anything like that, but I would like to be able to play games in 1440p at like 60fps, it's fine if it dips a bit below that framerate. I'm a pretty casual gamer so I don't need like 120fps or anything, but I do want the best graphics I can get (1440p) without having like 20fps lol.

With that being said, i'm considering going with either an 15 9600k or an i7 9700k, either 8gb or 16gb of ram, and 1tb ssd, and an RTX 2060 super. Would these specs be sufficient to handle what I'm going for, 1440p@60fps? And is it necessary to bump up to the i7 and 16gb ram, or would the i5 and 8gb be sufficient for what i'm going for? Cause I obviously don't wanna waste extra money if i'll get no benefit from it.

Thank you for any help you can give!

So both systems are pretty decent and specced similarily, it then comes down to the looks of the system and what you prefer. The i5 should be enough for your needs, maybe get the K version if you want higher clocks while gaming. As for RAM, 16 GB is kind of a must if you want to play modern games, even at lower frame rates. Your FPS at that point will heavily depend on the graphics card, either go for the 1660 Ti or the RTX 2060. If you have the cash for that upgrade to the 2060, maybe consider the 2060 Super for another 50$, it will surely make a big difference and keep your system future proof as long as you stick to 1440p.

As for drive options, the base config from Dell is fine. If you need a bigger SSD, you can get one for less on the open market. Unless you don't want to, in which case I would recommend going for that 512 gb SSD + 2 TB HDD.

Both are awesome build! If I were you, I'd take the first, cheaper build. I'd configure another build, because I think both systems are way to RAM-Overpowered (the amount of RAM (memory) is way too much; You don't need that mouch by far. Better save that money. :) )
