I just attempted to upgrade my cpu from a i5 8400 to a i7 9700k, I checked on the website and found that my Gigabyte Z370 HD3P is compatible with the new cpu and updated the bios software to be compatible, after fully installing everything and powering the pc on I get no display on my monitor and after around 20-25 seconds the pc turns off and back on and repeats the process, after further inspection I noticed that some of the pins on the motherboard cpu slot may be bent or broken however it was like this when I took the old cpu out, I retried my old cpu and i'm still getting the same issue.

then you broke it when you're taking the CPU out. Otherwise it should have worked when you put the old CPU back
