classified section question

Is trading allowed? and is selling digital currencies (btc ltc etc) and other digital media (gift cards, steam keys etc) allowed? :o

So far, there really isn't that much detail put into the CoC. Here is all the CoC mentions about the classified sections:

 

 

13. Classifieds BST Rules

This is currently in a rough state, rules highly subject to change:

  • You use the classifieds section on Linus Tech Tips at your own risk. Linus Media Group Inc. is not responsible for the guarantee of the item arriving, payment being received or the safe storage of personal data.
  • You must include proof of ownership; normally a photograph with your username and the date the photo was taken written on a piece of paper - MUST BE LEGIBLE.
  • The classifieds section is for personal use only. There are to be no business sales yet. For business inquiries, please contact an administrator for options.
  • There are to be no links to eBay, Amazon, Gumtree, Craigslist or similar classifieds being posted.
  • You must post on the page for the sale when the item has been shipped and when the item has been received.
  • There are to be no sales of digital goods such as in game credits or digital download coupons.
  • No software sales.
  • Please do not cross post items. One advertisement per item.

In other words, no. You probably cannot at the current moment.

Haha no problem. Glad I could help. In the future if you have a question like this, the CoC wouldn't be a bad place to start. It's usually where I go for random questions like this. Although, your question is still relevant, and I'd like it to be answered by a Moderator or Forum Administrator. I'm curious to the answer too.

 

EDIT: Your question is a bit vague, so I'm going to reword it if that is alright. 

 

Are we allowed to make purchases on the Classifieds section with Online Currencies? Are we allowed to do straight swaps for certain items? For example I have a 7770 I don't use anymore, yet I need a new gaming mouse. Maybe somebody would be willing to trade an M40 for it.

i thought that there would be a separate post made for it, i did look at the subforum forum news and info but didnt see anything

Payment terms are to be determined between the traders - I will add more definitions in the future to make it more clear as to what the seller/buyer is willing to do

 

If you went to go make a classified you would notice there is an option for "Exchange"... this would be where you trade your 7770 for a mouse

Thank you for the clarification, I appreciate it. I guess in hindsight I should have toyed around with the classifieds before asking a question as such. Nevertheless, hindsight is 20/20 and clarification from an Admin is assuring. This could give a use to the half a bitcoin I have to my name ;)
