Bottlenecking?

Go to solution Solved by LoafySenpai,

Welll... i overclocked my GPU and now all of a sudden everything is fine now. so ig everything is solved lol.

Hi there, I keep having issues where my gpu isn't performing as well as I would think it would on games such as COD Modern Warfare. I have every driver updated so I don't know if it's a bottlenecking problem or what.
PC Specs:

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 6 Core 3200 Mhz
16 GB Ram

Zotac 1070 Ti 8 Gb

Windows 10 64 Bit

2 TB HDD

250 GB SDD

Run some benchmarks and see if you can find scores of systems similar to yours. Also monitor temps and clock speeds. During the benchmarks watch GPU usage and CPU usage, generally GPU should be near or at 100% while CPU is lower based off of how most modern games/benchmarks work. From there you can use some of that data to find a more specific issue.

Alright, I'll go ahead and do that and get back to you.

the only other game I'm playing atm is LoL and Cod. LoL has the same issue but not as bad. I do know that Cod has been having a crap load of issues but it was perfectly fine a few days ago and now it goes from 120 FPS down to 50-70 and just keeps bouncing from there back and forth.

confirm its the gpu. use integrated graphics and see. depending on the pc type, newer desktop intel cpus use 1080p, and will struggle with 720p. this happened to me. another thing. check the pc for dust inside and clean it. did you overclock recently? maybe its a psu throttle with oc. dust increases heat.

it's dust free, i just cleaned it. i don't have integrated graphics. also, I did overclock the gpu recently. so how would i find out if it's a psu throttle?

well, i guess use some utility like msi afterbutner, see if it looks like throttle while you play, then use pc part picker or psu calculator and put in your specs pc part picker adds up watt estimate as you go. if the wattage is close to your psu or near max (50 below max watts) you may have throttle. also concider your wattage slightly higher than estimate with the ocs. before you do the 50-ish comparason.

according to pcpartpicker everything is compatible.
