I had a similar issue with my GPU when I tried to install/remove it.  I will try to explain how I did it.

 

I grabbed the card from the front of the card (where ithe HDMI/DP ports are).  I pushed back a little and then down.  Trying to reset the card back into the socket.  I did not use a lot of force to do this.

 

Once I got the card back into the socket, I was then able to push the blue lever back and lift up on the gpu to remove it.
