windows 10 reinstall

hey guys i am adding another SSD to my PC and looking to reinstall windows 10. Is there a way to find the CD key my PC? Will i need the CD key when I reinstall and have a fresh windows 10?

If it's the same motherboard it should automatically activate

Yes it is the same mother board. Thank you.

 

but my buddy did the same thing on his PC and it made him enter the CD key. We reformated all the SSD and harddrives.

If you want to be more cautious about it, you can register it to your ms account and do it that way

i would but i dont have the actual CD key. I misplaced it somewhere. Which is why i was asking if there is a way to find the CD just by browsing the windows software that is already installed.
