Hey guys and gals. I need some help with my new pc build.

I got a pretty high budget (around 2-2.5k$), and i live in Norway so component prices are a little high in comparison to the US.

I got my first build like 10 years ago. I have upgraded it some, but it isn't enough. I have looked into what it would cost to upgrade the components in that rig to get it to where i want it, but almost everything needs to be upgraded so its easier to buy a new rig.

And i was planning to sell it so i could get some return on it.

With my rig i want to have the opportunity to play high end games. I play a lot of Planetside 2, Doom, GTAV, Modded Skyrim, but also games like CSGO and LOL.

I also do a decent amount of computer work, but i dont think that is going to be an issue with any rig in my budget.

I plan to have at least one 1440p monitor for gaming, and most likely a 1080p for primarily browsing and doing other stuff.

But that's about it when it comes to peripherals and extras.

Like i said in the intro, i am upgrading/building a new rig, because my old rig is obsolete and has no value when it comes to reusing components.

Here is the list of my current plan for the new rig. Please come with improvements and thoughts when it comes to bottle necking and the some parts of the build being overkill.

I will list all the current components in both USD (from NOK) and NOK. This is because some of the items are much more expensive in Norway than for example the US.

  • Processor:
    Intel Core i7-9700K
    500 USD ; 5199 NOK

  • Graphics card
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 RTX Super OC 3X
    690 USD ; 7199 NOK

  • Motherboard
Asus ROG Strix Z390-E GAMING, S-1151
    380 USD ; 3969 NOK

  • RAM
    Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200MHz 16GB (8x2)
    120 USD ; 1279 NOK

  • Storage
    Seagate Barracude 3TB HDD
    98 USD ; 1022 NOK
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB SSD
    140 USD ; 1489 NOK

  • Case
Fractal Design Meshify C Temp G
    120 USD ; 1230 NOK

  • Cooling
    Recommendations

  • PSU
Recommendations (I will OC both CPU and GPU)

  • Main Monitor
    Recommendations (1440p, 27'')

  • Secondary Monitor and Peripherals
    Already have

Just this comes in at just around 2K USD or around 21K NOK.

I would have no issues with a recommendations for a downgrade in GPU (as it is the most expensive part of the rig) or CPU, but i dont want to make a lot of comprises. For example if i can get a cheaper MOBO that is just as good for what my intended use is, i would gladly pick that. But this is just something i threw together today as a baseline for what i wanted/needed.

Thank you for your help, and if you really have a passion for designing rigs, i would love to have a chat.

Are you getting this all from a local shop, or a specific vendor?

I made some adjustments, cheaper CPU and motherboard allows you to get an RTX 2080 super instead of 2070 super

Also added a PSU recommendation.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

This is definitely a possibility. I haven't really been so engaged in high end rigs before so sorry for the probably obvious questions.

Is there any instance where the gpu could be bottlenecked from a cpu like that?

And i planned to buy everything from one vendor (Komplett.no) because they have the best customer service when it comes to electronics in Norway (in my experience and others), but i could always buy one or two components from another vendor. But the GPU and CPU must be purchased from them.

Unfortunately Komplett does not have that GPU.

And is WD of high build quality? Have never used any storage device from them.

Also CDON has really bad prices so its a couple thousands cheaper than the value calculated, if i buy it from Komplett

Thank you

western digital has proven to be one of the most reliable drive manufacturers. Their Black line is their professional line.
