Do I need a better Power Supply?

I am planning to buy an RTX 2060 by the end of this month.

The thing is, I built my PC on a budget.

And my power supply is the one that was included with the case.

I saw Linus saying that he doesn’t recommend that, but he doesn’t seem to say why?

Should I upgrade my power supply?

And what will happen if I didn’t?

(Why is using the power supply included with the case is not recommended)

PC Specs:

CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 2400G

GPU - Radeon Vega 11 (for now)

RAM - G.SKILL 8GB DDR4-2933MHz

Motherboard - ASUS EX-A320 GAMING

Power Supply - (included with case)

Cooling - Wraith Stealth Stock Cooler

(and Power Supply Fan as an exhaust)

They are usualy pretty bad quality

Meant only for basic hardware

For something like 2060 it's strongly recommended to use good quality psu

Can you take a picture of it?

The reason using the included psu is not recommended is because most case manufactures just put in the cheapest one they could get to save cost on the case. What power supply do you have? There should be a model number and/or wattage information on it somewhere.

It claims 300W, and there aren’t much information about it written on it.

It is blank, just says 300W

thats because he doesnt know a lot about PSUs.

but without knowing which  exact model of PSU it is, its hard to now if its suited for any modern system. could be group reg, lack OTP, ripple out of spec, fail crossloads.

depends on what stores you have avavible and pricing

it can vary quite a lot depedending on the region. rough budget is allways helpful.

There is a store near me, selling a Seasonic S12II Bronze 80 Plus 520W Power Supply for around $60, is that enough for the RTX 2060?

avoid, group regulated. you should be able to get better offerings.

do they have the:

Bequiet System Power 9 400w or more

Bequiet System Power U9 400w or more

Corsair CV650 (and not lower)

Corsair cx450/550

Rosewill Capstone G

EVGA GD

The most related power supply in your list that I found is the Corsair CX650M for around $120

Yes,

there you go https://elbadrgroupeg.store/

unless you want to wait a couple of weeks untill the MWE white V2 to be fixed (has some issues that will only be solved once productions starts after covid 19 is over).

https://elbadrgroupeg.store/power-supply/bitfenix-formula-80-plus-gold-standard-atx-psu-750w?sort=p.price&order=ASC

this was the cheapest in stock PSU id consider worth it to get. its way overkill tho.

any chance of ordering units that are listed as out of stock.

just dont get the MWE white V2 right now. like dont. it has issues that were enough for production to be halted and featuresets to change.

the other model is a rather good unit, tho way overkill wattage wise.

and when you do. make sure its the new model and not the old one. as old stock will be laying around.

you can come back here and ask again in a new thread when you are buying. because stock might have returned.
