Hey, kind of a simple but technical question; can I use my current CPU and use it for my other rig?

Like taking the CPU out of my motherboard and putting it into my other motherboard and installing drivers Iike normal? And then put it back in my original computer without doing anything else other than reinstalling my heatsink and reapplying paste?

And could this apply with my graphic card? Like same drivers on both rigs?

I was just wondering, trying to cut costs down for my future rig, if I cannot switch the CPU or GPU or both, I don't mind buying a new CPU or GPU ((was waiting for Maxwell and then putting my 660ti (which is in my current rig) into the new itx rig)) for the new build.

P.S. If you can answer this or confirm my solution that would be great!

After reinstalling windows, my computer clock keeps changing, sometimes the time stays frozen when you sleep it or shut it down and sometimes it randomly moves back time; it's random.Unchecking "sync with internet clock" does not work. Using the cmd prompt "time" as well as looking at bios shows the same time as the computer time which is wrong. Now I havnt changed CMOS battery but this seems to be the solution everywhere, I mean everywhere. Before I resort to changing CMOS battery, my last guess would be to try to reset CMOS. If that does not work (it most likely won't) I'll try to buy another battery. But first I need to find the damn name of it :P

Thanks.

There is no issue in exchanging compatible components. Just make sure you uninstall the graphic card drivers before installing the new ones.

Regarding the CPU there are no drivers to be taken into consideration, just let the bios do its job.

[snip]

Yeah, that'll work.

And for your other question, I don't know why it does that. Sorry.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

Yea I knew about the same socket, but thank you all for the reminders . So that question is easily answered. For my problem I'll probably replace the CMOS battery, but like I said I don't know the name of it lol. Once again thanks!
