Ok so I’m planning to upgrade my existing computer. I5 6500, crappy h110 board, 16gb 2133 MHz ram and hyper 212 Evo. Also a 1660 ti. I’m happy with the graphics card and the rest of the system, but the cpu needs an upgrade. I would get a Ryzen 5 3600 if I was starting from scratch, but I already have ram which is fast enough for Intel, and I don’t want to buy new ram unless the performance is really there. All I do is school work and gaming, and want to get a cpu that I could stick a 300 dollar graphics card with in two years. Should I get a 3600, 9400f, of 9600kf?

If you're lucky, you can find an i7-6700 for like $150 on eBay

For the Ryzen 5 3600, faster ram is definitely worth it, but you can overclock the ram you currently have to try to make it adequate.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

You can use 2133 ram for Ryzen, not optimal but it work.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w
