Folding Internet bandwidth

Newbie here,

I live with five roommates, we share a 10 Mbps down and 2 Mbps up inter net connection. How do I limit my download rate so it does not affect my roommate's WiFi experience?

Also just a random question, how big are the WU?

The work units are roughly 20-100MB each. It varies depending on the particular work unit.

You only connect to the servers when you are first downloading a work unit and then again when you are submitting a finished work unit. While you are processing the work unit (which can take a few hours) it does not need to connect to the servers.
Since the file sizes are relatively small and it isn't always downloading/uploading it shouldn't have any noticeable impact on the rest of the people using the internet.

You can use QoS (Quality of Service) in your router (assuming it supports the feature) to do just that.

LAN Rig: R5 3600X @ PBO, RTX 2070, 32 GB DDR4 3200, Dan Case A4-SFV V4, 120mm AIO for the CPU

HTPC: i7-7700K @ 4.6 GHz, GTX 1050 Ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200, AliExpress K39, IS-47K Cooler

Router: R3 2200G @ stock, 4GB DDR4 2400, what are cases, stock cooler

I don't have a problem...
