Hi, I was looking at a video where somebody made their own pudding keycaps because of the non standard corsair bottom row where they sanded all four sides. The only issue I had with that was there was no overlap and only the tops were painted (see images attached for more info) If I were to get the hyperX double shot pudding caps and painters tape the tops of the non standard keycaps then use paint stripper instead of sanding would it work well or would it damage the keycaps themselves?

Depends on the paintstripper. If it's plastic safe then it might work but sanding will still be the failsafe option.

I am unsure with sanding because I don't know how well of a finish I can get. I don't want some sanded all the way and others non sanded all the way.

Start with a rough grit (80 or so) and finish with something really fine. You can only go so far sanding it down until you reach the underlying material which will look the same regardless.

I was more talking the little overlap on the sides, If you were to tape that off sandpaper still might affect it.

Look at the images posted :)

You mean the distance between the black and white to be the same? If so you just have to be carefull. Paint remover + painters tape also isn't a failsafe method as it can seep under the tape too. Either way you'll have to take your time and do them carefully one by one.

Okay thank you :D also by chance do you know where I can get a UK layout pudding keycap set? I can't seem to find any and don't really want to use a US layout on a UK layout keyboard.

Sorry I wouldn't know where to get any of them. You'll just have to google a lot I guess. Or use a different kit.

Alright well thanks for the advice anyways, would it be better to wet sand or dry sand keycaps? I know nothing about sanding lol

Wet sanding by hand isn't going to do much. It's more of a thing when using a fast rotating tool to get a shiny or very smooth look. So you'll be best off dry sanding.
