Weird problems when booting to usb

Upon trying to boot this laptop back to windows (initially it was windows, then ubuntu, now need it back to windows)

I get this strange black screen with coloured dots at the top, any ideas?

if the pixels are always there it would be  a driver issue or maybe some dead pixels that could have occured.
