Issue with the memory available

Go to solution Solved by Domoretech,

swap 2 known working sticks in those slots and see if they work if not your ram slots have a bent pin or broken pin or your mb was shipped with 2 bad channels

Hi there, i have a issue with my new memory, i already had 16gb of ddr4 Vengeance LPX 4x4gb 2666MHz and i buy a new kit of the same memory (4x4gb) to upgrade at 32gb. My issue is that i only see 24gb of my 32gb. I see in the bios the D1 & D2 = N/A. I take off the 2 stick and put it back (of the two stick is from my old kit (red one)) and nothing change. I updated the bios and again nothing change.

Does someone had an idea of what i have to do?

Thank

Jonathan

Sorry my english that ain't my native language.

If i read it correctly you have tried putting two red sticks into D1&D2 and that hasn't worked? If i read that correct than i believe your mb has a faulty ram channel. That would be my best guess.

I put a kit in one side of my motherboard and the other one in the oposite side but nothing change. Again D1&D1 are N/A. It seem that all my memory are working since it see my black memory whose are in A1, A2,B1 & B2. There seem to have a dirt in one of the picture i will try to take it off.

I find the problem, there is an pin who is bent in the D1. So i will call an electronic professional to if it can be fix.

Thank @Domoretech

I can live with 24 go of ram. And i won't buy a new 500$ motherboard for a 2014 computer taht i planned to change in a year or two.
