Asus A2 & A9 Mobo codes

My current setup is an Asus IX Formula Mobo, i7 7700k, RoG Strix 1080 Ti, Samsung 850 Pro 1TB, and Corsair AX860i psu.

Today I logged in used the computer and stepped away. When I came back trying to wake it from sleep it was unresponsive. I rebooted and it stopped on the RoG boot screen. I noticed the A2 Mobo error code and have replaced the cables to the SSD.

It was after this that I noticed the SSD is no longer showing up as a boot drive in bios. Since then I have swapped the sata port on the Mobo, defaulted bios, power off and hold, Clear cmos button, and I still have code. When I enter bios the code shows up as A9.

The only thing I haven't tried is to check the drive on another computer as I don't have an extra or update bios (current version - 0801 x64) because everything was working fine before the sudden problem. Maybe I have missed something or someone else has info that might help. Thanks in advance.

this seems to be a drive problem. how long have you had the ssd
