One source out of two devices.

Press the windows button/start, type "Control panel" in, then select Control panel.

Go to hardware/sound, then select Sound.

Select "Speakers (or Realtek)" as the playback device.

Go to the "Recording" tab, right click and enable "Show Disabled Devices"

A device called "Stereo Mix" should show up

Right click on the new device and click "Enable"

Right click on the new device and click "Set as default device"

Double click on the new device to open the Properties window.

Go to the "Listen" tab.

Select the "Listen to this device" check-box.

Select the HDMI output from the "Playback through this device" list.

Now, you should have audio output on both Realtek and the HDMI output of your GPU/iGPU. If Windows behaves.

Hey guys,

Yes I'm a newbie here.  Love the place, looks really awesome and I love the Linus Tech Tips YouTube videos!  Ok, enough of that, on to my question...

I am using a REI HDMI splitter that goes from my desktop tower to my comp monitor and the other to my TV.  I'm using a Windows 10 HP Omen Desktop and when I want sound to go to my TV I have to switch my audio settings over to NVIDIA from Realtek Audio that plays my computer speakers.  Is there a way to have audio through both at the same time?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

No one knows?  I thought this would be a simple fix.

Windows 10 does have "stereo mix" which you have to enable to use.

Do you need one source to come out of two devices, or two different sources to come out of two devices?

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)
