I have a pre built computer right now and this will be my first build, so I wanted to get some thoughts on it.

Like will everything work fine and be compatible?

Thanks :D

EDIT: question about cooling, will cooling be enough(stock cooler, case coolers that come with)?

Can just get a B450 motherboard, the MSI MAX or Gaming Pro Boards will work fine, ones with VRM heatsinks anyways

Grab 3600mhz CL16 RAM, preferably one that's on the QVL list for the motherboard

Wouldn't get anything smaller than 500GB at this point

the 5700 has the same performance for less money, the MSI Evoke model should be fixed/improved

Get a case that has airflow like the NR600

Or the H500 if you want giant RGB fans

Don't need to spend that much on a PSU

what's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

You can install windows 10 for free without a key, or just get $5 keys on ebay that work fine

Looks okay. If you don't need PCIe Gen 4.0 (nothing in your parts list uses Gen 4 anyway) then you don't need an X570 motherboard. A B450 motherboard would save you a fair bit. Something like the MSI Tomahawk MAX is guaranteed to work out of the box with 3000 series CPUs, though most new B450 boards should be with updated BIOSes now anyway. The B450 boards are about $100 cheaper and you could put that money towards a larger SSD or something else in the build.

You also won't need 750W. You could grab the RM550x for $115.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

alright, I have a gtx 1050ti right now and a 144hz monitor, and I'll take your advice. Do you think it's a good upgrade?

Of course it is! To save money, you could use much cheaper CPUs like the 5 1600 and still get more or less the same performance from lower end GPUs like a 1050, that's because a more expensive CPU doesn't make a cheap GPU to have that much better performance than cheaper CPUs. But you if you use a GPU from a higher tier then, it is there in those cases where a better CPU makes the difference.

The GPU is going to be way faster than a 1050ti

Going to be fine for 1080p 144hz as well.
