Helping a friend

Hello, I am helping a friend build a PC(never a better time now that we are going to probably be quarantined,only just built my own system.) I got his system built it did POST,everything looked like it was running. I Installed windows, now I have ran into two problems. One the PC does not use the GPU its fans were spinning(though they stopped when we turned it off and on a few times as we tried a different monitor(it arrived while building.). Two, I think I am missing a cable for a 3 TB Seagate HDD  am i supposed to be sent the wire that goes from the HDD to the power supply. Thanks in advance for any advice. here is the build and a couple pics.

What do you mean the PC doesn't use the GPU? How were you able to install windows? For the HDD, the cable should be a SATA power cable that was included with the power supply

the gpu is not recognized you can see that from the pic where it should say 5700 rtx it is saying Microsoft basic display adapter.

Have you installed drivers? Windows is displaying so the card is working.

I have a 2060 that i did not install the driver for and it had a driver preinstalled is the same not true for the 5700

Might not be, that's the first thing I would try. Just to make sure, you are using the 5700xt and are getting a display, but it is not showing up in device manager, right?

In that case try installing the drivers from AMD.

As you well know, the GPU needs to show up in the BIOS too, check it there and if it doesn't show up the problem could be worse than you imagine. When something doesn't show up in the BIOS, Windows is unlikely to be able to see it because it's what ensures there are no errors before loading the operating system (POST). Since this is how the computer system starts after turning it on. It manages the flow of data between the computer operating system and connected hardware devices. Make sure everything is connected properly and that the cables you are using work, if possible try in another computer all this equipment too, I can personally tell you that I have seen hundreds of cases where something as easy as reconnecting everything properly solved the problem, so just don't forget the basics and make sure all these equipment is working fine.
