ASUS X470-I, terrible Wi-Fi?

Anyone else had problems with the Wi-Fi on this motherboard? I'm using the included external antenna, but I keep having the same issue: when ever I try and play a game online, from runescape to overwatch, it'll be fine for about 8 to 10 seconds, and then everything will freeze up for a second or 2, it literally happens all the time, non stop.

I thought the problem was with the signal (I'm renting a guest house in my landlords back yard and we have a Wi-Fi extender), but I just tried playing something on another computer in the guest house that's about 7 years old and the connection was fine.

Do you have a USB nic wifi card you could try?

I've never had issues with any of my Asus motherboards that include integrated Wi-Fi, possibly that the drivers need updating? All my Wi-Fi issues have come with motherboards that I needed to ad a PCIe Wi-Fi card. I'm not saying that it's impossible to have a problem, but maybe it's a software issue.

You know this comment he made didn't sound like an internet connection issue.

Lol TLDR. So that explain my response hahaha....

 

Could be an internet issue, but maybe running HardwareMonitor during a gaming session may help point the issue elsewhere.

also. when ever i test my internet speed there's a giant cliff right in the middle of it

i'm pretty sure it's happening all the time, not just during gaming sessions. it's just most noticeable at those times.

And elsewhere in your house how are the internet speeds compared to where your PC is?
