Issues with Chrome Profile

Hey peeps,

 

So in the last week or so I am having a tonne of issues with chrome. About half of the time that I start chrome back up the profile gets corrupted and I have to go and delete the profile and restart chrome so it will go back to normal. 

 

Anyone know why this issue might be happening so consistently?

I'm not sure why this is happening, but since every setting in chrome itself is saved in a profile, have you tried deleting chrome completely (including %appdata% files), and re-installing? That wouldn't take long and all settings will be saved anyhow.

Are you referring to the User Data?

 

All of the data. I reload chrome (ie start up the PC and start chrome) and its as if I had just done a clean install. 

 

I'm not sure why this is happening, but since every setting in chrome itself is saved in a profile, have you tried deleting chrome completely (including %appdata% files), and re-installing? That wouldn't take long and all settings will be saved anyhow.

 

Yip, I've deleted the profile and I restart it and its fine (well I mean I have to load back into chrome, sign in, add all my extensions again, bookmarks, etc). But like a day or 2 later I load up chrome and same issue. Keeps happening

did you try deleting %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Webdata  ?

 

I cannot find that path at all, or anything close to it

What data are you recommending I delete?

 

btw, this is the folder I have been deleting before to get things back to "normal"

Yeah I ment that folder, there is a "Web data" file in there you should delete according to some google thread :P

 

I think you mean the profile folder, the one containing all the settings, bookmarks, history etc. Yea that is the one I am deleting as per chrome's thread on it but like I was saying, issue keeps coming back every few days
