For a while now, I've been having performance issues in most of the games I play, and while I bought a 144hz monitor, I feel like my PC struggles to maintain a consistent 144hz or higher even in less intensive games. Right now, I have an I7 7700k overclocked at 4.7GHz, and an RTX 2070 at stock speeds. In games like League of Legends, it struggles to maintain above 144fps on high settings, PUBG on all of the settings as very low/low usually is around 60-70fps, and with Modern Warfare being anywhere from 30-50 fps on low settings. I run a dual monitor set-up, but on my second monitor, I will just have discord open, or Firefox with 4-5 tabs open. Even before I had dual display, the performance was still not the best. Any ideas as to what the problem could be would be much appreciated.

have you done a 3dmarks test and compared it to other systems with that config if it is different?

In the Time Spy benchmark, it's anywhere from 1000-1500 points less than systems similar to mine
