What game....

we need more information

Could be your computer, could be latency. Download speed means nothing. Need more information as stated above.

My Rig :  Case: Cooler Master HAF X ,Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H,PSU: Seasonic SS-750KM3,Processor: Core I7 4770k (overclocked 4.7ghz),Cooler: Corsair H100i, GPU: EVGA GTX 780 with acx cooler, RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 16gb DDR3 1600 (overclocked to 2000mhz), HDDS  Samsung 840 EVO 250 gb SSD , Western digital  2tb 7200 rpm 64mb cache, Old 1tb laptop drive I had , 320gb for os backup daily, 80gb external for weekly backups,Drives 2x Lg Blu Ray burner WH16MS40,MISC: Tp-Link dual band wireless card, Logitech g510s, Razer Deathadder 2013, Acer G236HLBbd 23" monitor, Old tv I had 23" for secondary monitor, old 32" samsung tv third monitor

So whenever I start to play a a game I lag in the beginning but i gets fine about 5 minutes in, anybody know why? my internet speed is below, btw is this good for gaming or bad? I know nothing about Nettworking :wacko:

servers might be far away. I get around 20 ping as well on speedtest but around 200 in game.

Its a store bough laptop,

 

I7-3632QM @ 2.2GHz

8GB ram

Windows 8

Intel® HD Graphics 4000

  1. you should try using something like cc cleaner if you havent already, and uninstall programs that you dont use 
  2. have you tried using low quality settings?

If you are on wireless then a lot of things can cause it. Someone starts the microwave, your neighbors (if you are in an apartment) might have an overlapping channel so when they they do stuff you get interference.

What's your ping in game, do you play on wireless and when you say lag, do you mean low fps or lag caused by network issues?
