Discord help is required!

SO i made my own discord server as a way to connect with people and share dank memes, and all is well. Except a couple of things. As an added measure of security i added Carl-Bot to my server to creation a verification reaction role, and it worked... only.. palatially. Instead of only having the  #info and rules section available to new members who joined the discord as was intended ( To stop bots from filling up my server), I ended having five text channel being able to be seen and interacted with BEFORE verification. I will point out that the role was actively working, when the user verified they were able to see the rest of the server, it's just that the General chat and a few others were able to bee seen and interacvted with pre-verification, which made it a pointless process to go through. This obviously wasn't right. After some tinkering i thought fuck it, and tried to remove car bot, . That worked, but every time somebody joined is does the same thing as if carl bot is still there. So what i'm thinking is that:

a) i didn't configure Carl bot correctly although i watched this YouTube video right here and followed it to the letter. But somehow have it wrong. Which makes me think i need to enter discord developer mode and perhaps undid what i set? The girl in the video did say you can't just undo the processes that she went to. If anyone knows how to do that that would be great. 

 b) I have selected some permission in these text channel roles, that has prevented them from being un-interact-able  to the viewers site during the verification process. Although it's only happening to certain text channels, which makes me think i've done something wrong and created a wrong permission. Idk, can somebody spend some time and help me with this part of the server thanks?
