Optical G700?

Hey,

 

I was wondering if there was a wireless mouse with as much buttons as the G700 that has an optical sensor? I think the laser sensor in the G700 is a bit too precise and I thought an optical sensor would give me smoother movements.

 

I already searched around to see if there is anything I liked, but I couldn't find anything.

I looked at the G602, but I'm not sold on it for various reasons.

 

Wireless is essential because I absolutely hate having a cord on my mouse.

That many buttons are also essential because I have grown so accustom to having these that I fear I can't live without them.

G602 is the best you're gonna find in the wireless world.

I second the G602 above the G700s, the battery of the G700s is very weak and doesn't last more then a day (so you will have to plug the cord in 50% of the time).

laser is great, I don't know why optical would make it smoother it depends on the refresh rate

Laser sensors have a "flaw" that causes them to have a small amount of acceleration even if disabled through software. This means you won't get constant results when moving the same distance, and especially in FPS games that can lead to misses. It is not by any means a major flaw and laser mice work just fine for their intended purpose but if you are seeking for the best possible experience, optical is the way to go. Pretty much any mouse with Avago ADNS-3090 (such as G400s) or PWM3310 (such as SteelSeries Rival) optical sensors, or their modded versions, are considered "flawless".

Yeah, the only problem is the G700 would be the perfect mouse for me if it had an optical sensor. The mouse wheel is simply amazing. Not those rubbish rubber thingys that are flimsy and don't detect a scroll everytime. It detects every scroll 100% and is high quality and the down press feels perfect and you don't accidentally press the side buttons of it (I had that problem with the M305) and being able to freely scroll it is awesome as hell. Ergonomy is heavenly. You don't have to replace any batteries because you can just recharge it. And all those buttons are really useful. But it had to be a laser sensor....

It might feel like it, but it isn't. Don't take that as if it was bad or anything, it simply is not optimal when looking for as perfect sensor as possible.
