Could I attach an air pump to the top of my reservoir to increase the pressure in my loop and force any air out?

The pump will do the job of removing air from the loop, you can expedite that process by moving the case around and varying the speed of the pump to move those bubble to the res. For all the tiny microbubbles it will take about a week for them to all disappear.

Increasing the pressure of the loop by just adding air will not help it force bubbles out as it's being added evenly to all areas of the loop.
