Hi guys.

Looking forward to upgrade from shp9500s...

Need:

- better imaging, soundstage, footsteps and audio quality

What do you recomend guys?

I was looking to DT800 or DT900..

I also need dac/amp combo to power them.

Thanks

DT 880 600 ohm plusa fiio k5 pro if you want to save money. But a good amp pairing would be the monoprice liquid spark and a dac like the topping d10

What´s the diference between DT880 600ohm and the DT990 pro?

For power i realy wand amp/dac combo. You can only recomend the k5pro?

Thanks for your info

Tuning. For gaming either one imo is a toss up which one is better . The 990 has more bass less mids sharper treble . While the 880 has a more balanced sound . If you go with the 990 I would recommend the 600 ohm premiums more comfortable and if you have the gear to run it a better headphone than the 250 ohm pro version

What version is that? The premiums? can you post a picture please?.

So, to catch footsteps you recomend the 990 (sharper treble is related with footsteps right?)?

you still recomed k5 pro dac/amp for those?

Yep sharper treble helps for certain footsteps tones say like a character stepping on glass in siege or gravel or sand. I would reccomend the k5 pro if that all you want to spend. But the monoprice liquid spark is a better pairing imo

It's just an amp. If it's difficult the k5 pro should be easier to get as fiio is everywhere

Yes, you right..

Can you tell, in you opinion, if theres a major upgrade diference in the DT990 600ohm to the shp9500s?

Also, who performs best? DT990 600ohm or MMX300.

And creative x3 any good?

Thanks for your time man

Never tried the x3 so I'm not sure how it performs. But the 990 to me is a definite upgrade on the 9500s which to me isn't really all that great good value but the sound isn't really all that enjoyable. The 990 has much better imaging and range in the soundstage than the 9500s

Should be 140-170. If you want something more of direct upgrade to the 9500s in terms of sound signature the DT 880 is a good option as well. I would reccomend staying with the premium versions with the grey aesthetic

ok thanks.

I think i´ll go to the DT990. Can the cable be detached?

So, no point aiming to the MMX300?

The mmx 300 is great if you need the closed back but interns of gaming performance it's weaker. You can buy a modded pair or 990 called the afk Khan it's tuned to sound different and more enjoyable for most people and comes with a detachable cable but it's much more expensive

I was asking about mmx300 because of the mic..

With DT 990 i´ll have to buy a desk mic.

hi man.

i´m about to go with the DT900 600ohm + k5pro but i wan´t to get this out of my head... Can you tell if the k712 pro perform better than the DT900 600ohm?

thw 712 is a favorite among gamers due tot he wide soundstage but in all honesty thats all they really have and the range isnt as good as the 990. the 990 has a wider range in soundstage and what I  mean by that is things can sound far away but in relation to the 712 the 712 may be a little wider but he 990 can also present things closer to you than the 712. a but thing the 990 has over the 712 overall is imaging which is the most importan thing in gaming a gamming headphone isnt anything without imaging and that is how it tells you where a persong is what angle they are at in relation to you and bothe the dt 990 and 880 do a better job. the thing with the 990 that people generally dont like is the sharp highs and thats an issue iif you want to use these for music. the sharp highs are helpful in games not in music which the 712 doesnt have the 712 is a much more [pleasant sounding headphone in that respect and is generally a better all rounder. but not as good as the 990 in gaming.

Ok that was very clear!

Lets go with DT990 then.

Thanks

yesterday i was going to order the DT990 600ohm but in my area they rise in price a little bit and by the other hand the ATH-ADG1X, ATH-AG1X and ATH-AD700X all droped in price...

Can you give you opinion once more please?

as far as gaming goes the sth 700 is fine not excellent IMoO its pretty above most for gaming, but for music or general content consumptions thye fall apart the treble is way too forward adn everything else too flat making it sound mostly bright and sorta tinny. the adg g1 is basically the same as the 700 but with a mic. and the ag1 is a but more sibilant and  but has more bass. this is all relating to my tastes tso take it with a grain of salt.  headphones that do something similar to these and I enkoy more for a similar price is the dt 880 600 ohm
