I've been looking for the answer to this question for a long time and i cant find it anywhere. Is the ROG rog front base compatable with the ROG crosshair 5 formula-z mobo? It's an am3+ socket.

no it is not. the crosshair lacks the communications header (ROG_EXT) to tie

the base unit to the motherboard. so far the list is:

Z87 Impact

Z87 GENE

Z87 Hero

Z87 Formula

Z87 Extreme

X79 RIVE Black Edition

awe what a shame, i really wanted this, the lack of good accesories that support amd based mobo and cpus really pisses me off, anyone know of a similar product that does support it?

nopers. basically the new tech will get expansion ideas over old EOL platforms.

i kinda think of it this way, i stare at my monitor more than the front of my case

for information necessary to keep it running on edge. so it is neat with flashing

display and different colors, but in the long run of it, just another cable

management nightmare to make more room for and troubleshooting issues.

sometimes less is more. just my opinion.

alright, the amount of high end products for amd is so lacking, seams like companies are forcing you to go intel, hopefully with the release of mantle we will see a larger adoption and an increase in that market.

i don't think it is really that, most companies develop for products based upon return on investment.

if enough "buzz" is in a platform, most jump onto it with their idea or technology. so if not enough

"interest" is placed into the platform, yes limited ideas occur.

hopefully so, but not looking for 2x performance gains by all means. just means weaker platforms

can be used for a "get-by" till a next-best-thing comes along or a platform upgrade happens.

i like my 8350/CH5FZ, just discouraged about the productivity deficiencies.
