Hello

I live in India and I just take a 40mbps fiber connection. And I got 95ms to 98ms Ping in apex legends (Singapore servers) . But I not expirenced any lag or something. But I want to know is the above ping figure are ok or I have to do something to get lower ping. Are my enemies have upper hand if they got Lowe ping then me. I heard it somewhere that ping doesn't matter if it is under 100ms.

Can someone explain.

Ping is literally the time packet takes from you to server. So if its under 100ms, its ok. optimal would be under 50ms. But the key is how big the difference between you and others have. If its 50ms or under, you won't notice it. If its something closer to 70-100ms difference, you will start to wonder why they seems to notice you quicker. So you having 95ms ping and them having 40-60ms ping, they have very tiny advantage. And something you really only notice in aim-centered shooters like Quake and CSGO. In more objoective based games, good game sense can keep up with just pure aim.

With where I live, there's virtually no servers any where near by. Seattle is 2300ish KM away by air. Most of the time when I play games I get put in West Coast servers. I average 100-120m/s. Australia/SEA is just about the same for me. EU tends to be closer to 200. People complain A LOT about ping. You'll notice you're "seen" before you "see" sometimes, but you kind of get used to that and can learn to work around that.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Under 50ms is good. My favorite bf4 server isn’t local and I stay around 120ms in that one and i notice a huge difference when playing on that one vs a local 40ms server.
I tend to get hit more and miss more shots on the higher ping server. I couldn’t play apex if the ping was bad like over 100ms.

Depend on games but for Apex <100ms is acceptable but not optimal.
