Hello all,

I recently built my PC in lateish 2019. I have a budget of £170 pounds to upgrade it (can stretch to 200 if really needed).

I have been thinking of upgrading:

  • CPU Cooler
  • Case Fans
  • Keyboard and mouse

Reasons for upgrade:

  • CPU Cooler: While the included Wraith Prism is fine, I find it can be noisy and whiny and that the temps aren't as low as I'd like.
  • Case Fans:The H510 comes with 2 120mm mounted in the rear and top and I'm looking to get 2 140mm in the front.
  • KB+M: I don't have a proper mechanical keyboard yet and would like to get one. For the mouse, I'd love to have a wireless one just for cable management.

My planned upgrades are here:

Thanks for your help in advance.

Looks good. I wouldn't get a wireless mouse though, it's got some input lag and it's annoying when the battery dies.

logitech lightspeed mice have <2ms of latency. its excellent for a wireless mouse. sometimes its even faster than wired.

honestly, what you chose is already good. Though i might suggest a different cooler. Smaller name brands (arctic) usually have cheaper fans that are louder and sometimes winy-er.

What other cooler would you recommend? I have 165mm of clearance in my case.

you do know they're using bionix fans on this one?

with that said, i'd personally do some different choices

Gelid Phantom has shown to be very close to higher end coolers, while costing as little as 30 pounds, as shown here: https://nl.hardware.info/artikel/7606/6/gelid-phantom-black-review-dual-fan-tower-testresultaten-socket-115x

the fans are both very good, but i wanted to show you a secondary option (also comes in red, white or yellow)

G305 is a bit smaller, slightly worse on sensor, but goes for as little as 35 pounds on amazon currently, and as an owner of two i personally like them

the GMMK is one of the options with an estimated price, but something like this, a geek gk61/64, hexgears gk705/707 or team wolf zhuque would have hotswap switches, so you can swap them down the line, and have standard layouts unlike Logitech for different keycaps.

Will definitely look into the keyboard as I don't know fully what switch I want yet. For the mouse would the G403 Prodigy be any good? It's currently sold out on Amazon but I could probably find it somewhere else.

That cooler looks insane for the price! I was originally going to get the NH-D15 but I thought it was overkill for my usage. A cooler that cools to 1C but £60 less is a great deal. In the future I'll swap the fans out for RGB fans as I'm going for a purple themed setup.

Which fans would you recommend out of the PureWings or the BioniX?

it comes with many, but you can buy it barebones too, and add your own switches and keycaps

from the looks of it, the sensor is similar, if not the same

so if it's better for your way of gripping, i'd say yes

either would work, honestly
