Intro-

Spoiler

Hi guys, first post here and I would like to talk though my planning for my new build for any one who wants to follow. First a little about me, I built my first computer back in 2015 it was around 800$ at the time but it was good as a intro to pc building. I am now a full time programmer and college student and decided to treat myself to a new pc. I plan on finishing it around end of April but due to my impatience I will start buying parts to build it soon and plan on doing a custom loop. On this PC I plan to play a lot of e-sports titles ie. overwatch , rocketleague ect. but, I also plan on playing things like Red dead 2 , modded skyrim ect.  Currently everything I do is on my laptop. MSI stealth (i7 1060 gb) but I would like a dedicated desktop as this laptop has cooling problems and is super loud due to fans being pegged at 100% when even simple processes are run on it. ( it still cranks games though, 60 fps medium settings 1080p RD2 , 80 fps Max Overwatch) but is just to loud. The build is going to be a super quiet high end budget build.

CPU / Cooling / Mobo-

Spoiler

Taken some notes from other users. We will now be going with a 3700x for the CPU. Decided we needed more CPU power here so there we go. Colling we are going with a be quiet! dual rad AIO. For mobo We upgraded to a Gigabyte Aorus x570 Elite.

GPU / Memory / Storage -

Spoiler

Since we are a gamer here I had to think about the GPU for a while. I decided on going with the EVGA  GeForce RTX 2080 Super XC Hybrid. You might be saying "bud why u getting max gpuz and not a good cpuz" My answer to that is because my dear friend. And thats about it. The 3700x should have no problem keeping up with this thing on the games I plan playing. If I ever want to stream though is when I should upgrade to a 3900x. Due to how ryzen 7 3rd Gen is we are going to want to ge the best memory we can for the price ( also since this is a budget build we will want to get only as much as we need ) So, I decided on going with Ripjaws 16gb 3600. Ryzen benifits from fasts speeds and considering the price diffrence between somthing like 3000 and 3600 is not alot we will be great right here. For right now all we need for storage is a quick SSD For this we are going with the WD 500 gb M.2 Drive. Later we might add a 2 or 4 TB optain accelerated HD.

Case - PSU

Spoiler

For Case I have always wanted a bequiet so we are going with bequiet dark base 700. Dont @ me as to why. As far as PSU we are going to go with a be quiet Straight power 11 850W 80+ gold because we love our branding.

Conclusion-

Spoiler

I hope you guys enjoy the build. Ill try to keep this updated as I get parts ( waiting for them to go on sale ) but the current MSRP at the time of making this is just under 2k including windows.

So two things:

(a) I don't recommend a custom loop. As cool as it looks, it's a pain in the ass to maintain and will be costly over time. Get an AIO if you want to watercool, since the R5 3600 doesn't need that much cooling, and the EVGA 2080 Ti doesn't support custom water blocks, as far as I know.

(b) Your 3600 will bottleneck your 2080 ti. Just get a 2080 super and a R9 3900X. It's more worth it, and you can fit in a 1 TB Samsung NVME drive as well.

My Build (5800X3D, RTX 3070)

disclaimer: i probably don't know what I'm talking about but I try to give the best advice I can

a) EK does sell 2080 TI waterblocks now.

b)I seem to of miss calculated the power of the 2080 Ti so I probably will drop it down to a super. Move the CPU to a 3700x and use the extra for a MOBO upgrade. Ill make the changes. Thanks for input.
