remove navigation pane icons

can anyone help me remove these icons just from here, i know there is a program to do that but i would prefer to myself in regedit

You need to look for a program that someone hacked then.

the program winaero tweaker does what i want but i would rather do it manually without the program

thats why i came here, i did a quick search but it wasnt showing me exactually what i wanted. i asked here to see if anyone knew how to do it

My suggestion to you is, wait until tomorrow then post some random thing somewhat coherently viable in this thread so it jumps up into the first page. But I'd do it at around supper time, pacific time zone, thats when everyones home and bored and killing time on the forums.

sortof, that only removed the folders from the main windows explorer section and not the navigation pane

Do you want to remove the folders, or not have "This PC" auto-expand as you browse your folders?
