Question about displayports..

My pc has 3 display ports.. for 3 monitors of course. but which one should I use with one monitor?.. I found something online that says i should use the left one for left middle for middle right for right ect.. but I only have one.. So, I've used the middle for a while its a gtx960ssc. but I did find in nvidia control panel that is displayport 2. and the left one is display port 1. So.. The left one wins. right? I know you guys think it doesnt matter but I've very particular about getting all my cords right and in order ect ect. thanks.
